The simplest "hack" to improve your fitness

Social media is honestly exhausting - all the hacks to improve your fitness, do this, don't do that, eat this food, don't touch that food with a ten foot pole... It honestly is all a ploy for their marketing campaigns most of the time. What people should know is that health and fitness do not need to be complicated. We can do that basics well and be perfectly healthy without a complicated fitness routine, expensive diet, supplements, cold plunges, saunas, etc.

So with the holidays looming and the beginning of the year with all the challenges and hacks starting to arise - I want to give you a simple tip if you're wanting to improve your health going into 2026. And that tip is...

Start going for walks.

Walking makes a huge impact on your health. A recent study (from 2025) found that walking for 15 minutes per day decreased risk of death by 20%.

We know that walking for women leads to:
- improved heart health
- improved bone density
- improved metabolic health (think diabetes, thyroid health)
- reduced lower back pain
- improved mood
- improved energy
- better pelvic floor function

Walking tends to be incredibly undervalued when it comes to our health. Daily walks are one of the best habits you can build, especially for your entire family. It's an activity you can do together, or alone if you need the space. It's a habit you can build during pregnancy, healing in postpartum, dealing with busy mom life, rebuilding strength, navigating menopause, and more. Even for those of us in colder climates, walking pads are now more accessible and affordable. Investing in one can allow you to squeeze in a walk during nap time or during work.

What is one habit you would love to start in the new year? Was walking on your mind?

With peace and love,

"Have your babies close together!" "We're doing two under two!" "Three years apart is perfect!" Social media is overflowing with opinions about pregnancy spacing! As someone who specializes in the postpartum time period, I want to share what the evidence actually tells us. This is not to make anyone feel guilty about their choices, but to help you make informed decisions that support your body and your growing family. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) recommends...

How do we prepare our pelvis for birth? This is the question I am answering in my free pelvic prep guide - that you can download at the bottom of this email! This guide is 20+ pages of pelvic prep - from anatomy to mindset around birth. The female pelvis is designed for giving birth. Does this mean that every birth will be vaginal? No - there are always multiple factors at play when we are thinking about the outcomes of a birth. What it does mean though, is that we can focus on different...

Working on rebuilding in postpartum is one of my favorite things to support clients with. Why? For several reasons - postpartum is a critically underserved time in a woman's life, postpartum being a transformative time, postpartum being a time where prior exercise habits tend to fall off, and rebuilding being an essential part of helping you "feel like you" again. Finding a good postpartum rehab program is essential. This program needs to help take you from "just went through pregnancy,...
